Initially developed as a suburb of Toronto, Mississauga's growth is attributed to its proximity to the city. It is the largest suburb in the Anglo-American population.

Steering Mississauga south / south-east to the north, east of Toronto and Lake Ontario to the west / southwest, Brampton is surrounded by the Oakville and Milton. Mississauga Halton Hills borders the North West corner.


Mississauga Square One Shopping Centre in the center of the city called the largest shopping malls in Canada, boasts one.

The Canada Day celebrations, Mississauga Rotary Ribfest, Tree Lighting Ceremony, and New Years' Eve Bash function as Mississauga's largest festival usually occur in the Square.
