Beginning a business venture is an exciting and potentially a beneficial
prospect, but also one that is filled with uncertainty and risk.
Research the area you live in for the pro's and con's & the amount
of compaction . Learning the facts will only help you and your business
have the best chances of survival. Then you have to choose which style
of cleaning company suits you. Whether it be residential houses,
pressure washing, offices, or constitutions clean ups and so on.
Pros
One of the main reasons people start a business is to reap
personal and professional benefits. With a new business, you have the
flexibility in setting your own hours, to be your own boss,. It gives
you the ability to pursue a career based on your interests and skills.
Opening a business also gives you a great feeling of freedom.
While
beginning a business can seem overwhelming, the potential for
financial success is there. Out of all the styles of cleaning company's
out there house cleaning is the cheapest to start (in my opinion). With
it being the easiest to start the compaction it however is more stiff.
Cons
While
a new business venture can be exciting, it can also be a tiring
pursuit. The hours are longer in the beginning, example say a 40 hr work
week can easily be turned in 52 hrs a week. These numbers can increase
around the time of your opening. Think of it like this, you do the
jobs and then there is the paper work after words. Most start out as
company's run everything themselves. Most don't have the funds for
employee overhead.
You'll
also need to purchase Limited liability insurance and get bonded. You
however can start without these but I highly recommended you don't. If
something was to happen it could cost you a lot of money.
Don't
underestimate the difficulty with owning your own business. While
working for someone else, you had 1-3 jobs to do but, when you open a
business, you will need to have the ability to complete any needed
task, including hiring and firing employees, arranging contracts and
relationships with vendors, and performing less glamorous jobs, like
cleaning.
Considerations
Since
opening a business comes with risks, you should limit the risks as much
as possible. For example, have enough capital to keep your business
running for several months without income coming in. You may have to
start your company part time, work the job you have now to pay the bills
until things pick up.
