CHAPTER [3] PROTEINS
(3/20/2016)
Proteins:
The proteins are the most abounded macromolecules in most cells and constitute 50 percent or their dry weight, they are fundamental to all biology since they are the instruments by which genetic information’s is expressed they are also very versatile cell component some are enzymes and some serves as structural components while some are hormonal activity,
The proteins represent perhaps the most complex and varied class of macromolecules in the cell, because of many recent advances in the study of proteins, we now have new insights into their structure and behavior,
Composition of Proteins:
Many proteins have been isolated in pure crystalline from all contain carbon hydrogen nitrogen and the oxygen, and nearly all contain on sulfur ad some proteins contain on additional elements, while particularly phosphorus ion zinc and copper, on acid hydrolysis all proteins yield a-amino acid as end product,
The amino acid composition of two typical proteins, the amino acids of any give protein do not occur in equal amounts, nor do all proteins contain on all the 20 common a-amino acids,
PHENYLALANINE
Human Chromosomes = 46.25
a-amino acid = CH3CH(NH2)COOH = C3H7N1O2 = 36 + 8.75 + 14 + 32 = 90.75 mole
Phenylalanine = C9H11NO2 = 167.75 m/g
For example = a2 / b2 = c2
Phenylalanine = a2 and b2 = Chromosomes of human
= a2 / b2 = c2
= 167.75 / 46.25 = c2
Peptide = 28140.0625 / 2139.0625 = c2
Peptide = 28140.0625 / 2139.0625 = (13.15) c2
= c2 = 13.15 / c2 = 6.575 c1
= c1 = 6.575 - 3.575 H3 = 3 c1
= c1 = 3 = human cytochrome C
= c2 = 13.15 / c2 = 6.575 c1
= c1 = 6.575 * 0.912 % human metabolism = 5.9
= 6 = Bovine chymotrypsinogen A
**by table of amino acids, the Phenylalanine composition of two proteins by 46.25 Chromosomes of human,
Important! Here we shall use 46.25 Chromosomes of human for the table, because the all cattle are food chain of human,
