CHAPTER [3] PROTEINS

Proteins

(4/14/2016)

Amino Acid Composition of Proteins:

It is amazing that all the different types of proteins are initially synthesized as polymers of only 20 amino acids, known as the common amino acids, the common amino acids are defined as those amino acids for which a specific codon exists in the DNA genetic code, there are 20 amino acids for which DNA codon are known, the process of the reading of the DNA code, resulting in the polymerization of amino acids of a specific sequence into the proteins based on the DNA code, In this chapter we shall discus only the protein of this genetically controlled synthetic process,

For example

Tyrosine = C9H11NO3 = 183.75 m/g

Tyrosine = UAU, UAC, = mRNA Codons

(CYTOSINE)

  = a2 + b2 = c2

  = a2 = Tyrosine and b2 = Cytosine = c2

  = a2 = 183.75 m/g and b2 = 111.1 g/mol = c2

  = a183.75 + b111.1 = c2

  = 33764.0625 + 12343.21 = c2

  = a + b = 46107.2725 = c2

  = a + b = 46107.2725 / 415.00 (4PO4 + 2OH = 414.5) = 111.1

  = a + b = 111.1 / 111.1 (C) = 1

  = a + b = 1 Cytosine for mRNA Tyrosine,

mRNA Tyrosine Polar = 1 Cytosine

tRNA Tyrosine Polar = 0 Cytosine

(ADENINE)

  = a2 + b2 = c2

  = a2 = Tyrosine and b2 = Adenine = c2

  = a2 = 183.75 m/g and b2 = 135.13 g/mol = c2

  = a183.75 + b135.13 = c2

  = 33764.0625 + 18260.1169 = c2

  = a + b = 52024.1794 = c2

  = a + b = 52024.1794 / 192.49 (C6H12O6 + H7 = 191.75) = 270.26

  = a + b = 270.26 / 135.13 (A) = 2

  = a + b = 2 Adenine for mRNA Tyrosine,

mRNA Tyrosine Polar = 2 Adenine

tRNA Tyrosine Polar = 0 Adenine

(URACIL)

  = a2 + b2 = c2

  = a2 = Tyrosine and b2 = Uracil = c2

  = a2 = 183.75 m/g and b2 = 112.0868 g/mol = c2

  = a183.75 + b112.0868 = c2

  = 33764.0625 + 12563.45073424 = c2

  = a + b = 46327.51323424 = c2

  = a + b = 46327.51323424 / 137.87 (2CO2 + 3OH = 139.75) = 336

  = a + b = 336 / 112 (U) = 3

  = a + b = 3 Uracil for mRNA Tyrosine,

mRNA Tyrosine Non-Polar = 3 Uracil

tRNA Tyrosine Non-Polar = 0 Uracil

Total Codons = C1 + U3 + A2 = 6

Tyrosine = UAU, UAC, = mRNA Codons

There are 20 amino acids for which mRNA codon are known, the process of the reading of the mRNA code, resulting in the polymerization of amino acids of a specific sequence into the proteins based on the mRNA code,

The genetically controlled synthetic process =

= (4PO4 + 2OH = 414.5)

= (C6H12O6 + H7 = 191.75)

= (2CO2 + 3OH = 139.75)

Main Functions of Tyrosine

Precursor to neurotransmitters dopamine, norepinephrine, epinephrine (adrenaline) and melanin.

Effective anti-depressant for norepinephrine-deficient depressions,

Tyrosine is preferred over Phenylalanine,

Which is also a precursor to all of the above neurotransmitters.

Phenylalanine is one step removed from the metabolic process, (C6H12O6 + H7 = 191.75)

And can aggravate high blood pressure. (2CO2 + 3OH = 139.75)

Precursor to thyroxine and growth hormone, (C6H12O6 + H7 = 191.75)

Increases energy, improves mental clarity and concentration. (C6H12O6 + H7 = 191.75)

Requires pyridoxal-5-phosphate (P5P) a form of vitamin B6 to be converted into norepinephrine, (4PO4 + 2OH = 414.5)

P5P deficiency will lower norepinephrine levels, even if Tyrosine levels are normal, (4PO4 + 2OH = 414.5)
